We felt like doing another video which was slightly more in depth but hopefully easy enough for you guys to grasp. I feel and this is my opinion that we have been mislead for a long time regarding saturated fat and it’s effect on cholesterol and the body.
This goes against what most of us have been taught for most of our lives but to be brutally honest the old way wasn’t working with obesity and heart disease being more prevalent than ever.
All though I try and to get across that Saturated fat is not the enemy it has been demonised to be! It still needs to be in moderation like everything else but these low fat high sugar alternatives are not the way to become healthy.

Excellent video. What's really amazing though is there are hardly any vegans trolling in the comments. Usually videos like this are full of that
as you said the liver produces cholesterol naturally so there is absolutely no need to consume it through diet and studies shows that cholesterol has no effect on testosterone as vegans have the same level of testosterone as meat eaters and we are herbivores because of the fact that we develop atherosclerosis which only develops in herbivores
yep, it all started when they said low fat diets were good. anyone can see that
Very good video mate. Pleased to see someone who is educated in nutrition. Also don't forget the cholesterol tests on rabbits decades ago. Rabbits cannot digest animal proteins/fats, yet after numerous rabbits getting sick from "high cholesterol" sat fats are now deemed evil. Retardation in a nutshell if you ask me.
Doesn't your body naturally produce cholesterol? And what about vegans who cut out meat and dairy which are the main source of cholesterol? Is that bad?
We felt like doing another video which was slightly more in depth but hopefully EASY enough for YOU GUYS to grasp?? Bahhahahaha,
There is no such thing as good or bad cholesterol. LDL is not a cholesterol molecule at all. It's Low Density Lipoprotein and there is absolutely nothing bad about it. The fundamental role of LDL in the brain is to capture life giving cholesterol and transport it to the neurons where it performs critically important functions.
Copied from "Grain Brain" by Dr. David Perlmutter.
At least somebody got it right. Spread this video, guys.
You explain so well and so easy to understand. Hve you read I QUit sUgar book by sarah wilson?
These are the things we were told at uni too! Just curious if you took any nutrition qualification?
First of all, wisdom from the mouth of babes! I applaud your videos. For me the proof is in the pudding. I am a male 47 years old, 5'4" tall. Three months ago I weighed 204 pounds. I eat all kinds of food and like all kinds of food. For the last couple years, I have gained weight and have felt constantly, tired sluggish and was basically inactive. My life consisted purely of going to work and coming home and stuffing my face with food. Hunger was a constant companion. None of my clothing fit comfortably and I did have
gastric intestinal discomfort. My bathroom habits were frequent, unpredictable and extremely urgent. I also suffered frequent gout attacks which required a very expensive medication. Long story short, I was miserable. Then one day, I randomly made the choice to go low-carb. Three months later, I am 16 pounds lighter, my waist is 7 inches smaller, my clothes fit, I am off the expensive gout medication, most importantly the gastro intestinal issues are completely gone. Five days a week, I swim for a half an hour. I feel as well as I did when I was 25 years old! I dumped the carbohydrates, sugars and processed foods. Saturated fat and vegetables are a large part of my diet.
If you have high cholesterol how do you go about fixing it? You still need cholesterol in your body I assume, so … yeah, how? >. <
You guys are super smart!…and very attractive..haha. Thanks for posting and sharing so much information!! 🙂 I even made a blog post for Friday about your "How Sugar Affects Your Body" video! You guys should definitely be more well known. Thanks again!
Your video was the most honest i have seen! I will cut down on the snapple to cut-down on the cholesterol!
Love your videos @The Lean Machine I'm wondering what stretches to do before and after cardio?
You talk a lot of sense. Regarding cholesterol, look for a blog by Dr Malcolm Kendrick who has also written a book called 'The Great Cholesterol Con'.
You guys are sooooo right! Not sure if you can imagine how many people think fat is bad for their organism, they eat tons of carbs, cereals and other shitty food. For God's sake, fat is good! Saturated fat is good, monounsaturated fat is good! Having a low-carb high-fat diet will not only help you lose weight, but you'll realise how hard it is to gain weight! It is amasing, you can actually eat as much as you like and not put on fat. Your HDL level will increase, which is good, your triglyceride and lipids level will decrease, which is also good. That's how you'll have healthy arteries and you'll stay away from statins (which doctors tend to prescribe to people having a cholesterol level of 250 – it is outrageous). I could write about this for ever and still feel like people are just ignoring what's so obvious and they keep falling for that shitty marketing that keeps pumping cereals into our lives, stating that they're healthy.
Yes this helped !
FINALLY someone who knows what they're talking about, thank you soso much!
I really enjoyed watching this video! You made it really easy to understand :). One thing that I'd love for you to discuss is commercial diets i.e weight watchers. It angers me that people are eating food based on how many 'points' they can have in a day. My friend does weight watchers and I think it's brainwashing people into thinking a certain way about food which in my opinion is wrong. I watched the documentary called 'The men who made us thin' which I thought was great, but I'd like to know your opinions on what is wrong with these diets!! 🙂 Thanks guys

Great information, just please talk slower! LOL!!
awesome video!
John, thank you a looot for your video, I love when you guys are talking about nutrition – always informative and interesting!
I have a question: what is your opinion on bacon?
I am a HUGE bacon lover and I love to eat it for breakfast with kale and 2 eggs. Is bacon considered to be a source of good fat? Can I incorporate it in a healty diet and in which ways?
Thanks in advance!
Thank john you given good advice keep the toppics coming
Fatty steak on a daily 🙂
Great vid very informative keep em coming guys xxx
Great video do more!!!
Really informative videos and perfect for a new gym/clean eating people like me 🙂
very informative series of videos thank you so much
Great info John! Its delivered in a positive faster paced yet understandable way. You took a very complex subject (the Ancel Keyes fallacy) and explained it simply. Ive been incorporating Weston A Price Foundation principles into my diet for a 1/12 years now. Very contrary to mainstream here in the US. They have a conference in London Feb 8-9 this year. Anyway, great work. Love your videos. Found you through your sisters.
Thanks, John! Super simple way to explain such important things! Keep doing these kinds of vlogs
Wonderful video!
I loved this. You're so knowledgable on things like this. Also, what would you suggest for someone who doesnt eat meat ie obtaining saturated fats? Thanks
I litterly favourite all your videos!!!!

Some great books are 80/10/10 by Dr Graham, The Starch Solution by Dr McDougall and The China Study. Freelee and Durianrider here on YouTube can provide some genuine information based on physical results 😀
Anyone fancy unlimited calories?
What're your opinions on a raw vegan diet? (e.g. Freelee the banana girl)
Finally someone who gets it right! Great video👌👌 it was explained perfectly. The Weston A. Price foundation is a good resource also
What to lose weight or get healthy why not try juice plus and see the benefits ? Message me for details x
This might sound silly, but I've been wondering about it for years and, well, you guys are right and I do agree with pretty much all your information you show on your videos, but… how come Asian people eat so many carbs and not get fat? I mean, they eat rice at pretty much every single meal. Yet, everyone says (including you guys) that carbs are bad… is it all just genetics?
Hi john 🙂 check out on bbc I player the horizon documentry on sugar vs fat it is very very interesting
